Guild of Food Writers announces this years awards shortlist

Cookery is such an important part of people's daily lives that there is even a guild of individuals dedicated to furthering great cookery through great writing.

The Guild of Food Writers has just announced the shortlist for its Annual Awards and many of the best food writers on the planet are included.

A ceremony for the winners will be held at London's Fishmongers Hall on Wednesday May 30th and with two new categories added, the event is expected to be an exciting one.

As well as the usual 12 categories - including Cookery Book of the Year and Food Journalist of the Year amongst others - Food Blog of the Year and Food Magazine or Section of the Year will be added.

The event will be sponsored by Schwartz, Tenderstem, Sacla and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.

Authors battling it out in the best cook book category include Jacob Kennedy, William Curley, Dan Lepard and Sally Butcher.
