Chef of the Year finalists announced

Ashley Palmer Watts and Raymond Blanc are two of the judges for a prestigious competition

When looking for new sources of inspirational recipes, caterers could follow the lead of fellow professionals in their field.

McCormick's resident expert Chef Steve says this is a great way to unlock new ideas and can re-ignite an individual's passion for food.

Those who do not have the opportunity to judge at various industry awards could still adapt the ideas on show to their own ends.

Professionals who wish to do this could keep an eye on the British Culinary Federation's Chef of the Year award.

Finalists for the prize have been announced and include Raymond Thomson of the Stirling Management Centre in Scotland, Byron Franklin from Pembroke College in Cambridge and Sheldon Fonseca, who works at London's Dorchester.

Judges include Raymond Blanc - who claims he is looking for sympathy and understanding to methods of preparation - and the final event will be held at the London Hotelympia on February 27th.
