Could you make your own blackberry gin this Christmas

Could you make your own blackberry gin this Christmas

Homemade offerings are always very popular when you have friends and family round during the festive period.

However, you could really impress your visitors this Christmas if you serve up some homemade blackberry gin, as opposed to a shop-bought alternative.

Of course, the cost of ingredients such as decorative cinnamon, the bottles and the actual blackberries can swiftly add up.

But this is Christmas and if you can't push the boat out at this time of year, when can you?

According to Rejina Sabur of the Guardian, it only takes an hour to make blackberry gin from start to finish, so it shouldn't take a huge chunk out of your day.

She has already done a taste test with her friends and found that they deemed it much more festive and tastier than a product bought from a shop.

"Tarted up with ribbons and tags, the bottles look much more special than a boring old factory version," Ms Sabur commented.
