Try cooking garlic with potato tart

Garlic is a key flavouring

One flavour pairing chefs could prepare for a winter warmer recipe is garlic with Parmesan to create a potato tart.

Celebrity chef and food writer Rose Prince shared her ingredients for the dish in an article for the Daily Telegraph.

Potatoes are boiled in salted water until they are tender, when they are drained, mashed and set aside.

Next, greens are boiled and chopped finely, before garlic, oregano, parsley and greens are fried.

These culinary herbs are then mixed with the mashed potato along with parmesan, ricotta and eggs and the resulting meal is patted into shape with a fork and baked in a tin.

Ms Prince's serving suggestion was to splash some oil over the tart and add parmesan.

An alternative meal with similar ingredients was recommended by award-winning professional baker Dan Lepard in the Guardian, who suggested the use of the same root vegetable as a key ingredient in ale-crust potato pastries.
