Curry recipes the perfect way to use spices

Many spices are used in these delicious curry recipes

People looking for some adventurous recipes that make use of spices may want to have a go at creating their own curry.

There are plenty of ideas out there, such as the tofu curry with lime recommended by the Vancouver Sun.

It describes the sauce for this dish - which requires cumin and coriander seeds, ground turmeric, a cinnamon stick, fenugreek seeds, ginger and curry paste - as "outstanding".

These ingredients are combined with lime juice, brown sugar, peanut butter, garlic, vegetables, coconut milk and tofu to make a delicious vegetarian meal.

Alternatively, meat-eaters could try Desi Blitz's recipe for Punjabi masala chicken, which makes use of ginger, garlic, garam masala, turmeric, black pepper and paprika.

These spices are added to red onions, chicken and as much chilli as the chef desires.

Some Brits may also want to try making a jalfrezi, as research conducted by Chaat!, the in-house magazine of the British Curry Club, recently found this to be the nation's favourite curry.
