Culinary herbs can give a starter a new twist

Herbs can bring a new experience to a dish

Culinary herbs are a brilliant ingredient for caterers to make use of, as they can be used in almost any dish - from starters to puddings.

Here at Schwartz for Chef, we recommend experimenting with exciting new flavour ideas to bring something different to a dish.

Indeed, our resident expert Chef Steve says this is one of his favourite things about herbs and spices.

Creating new taste sensations could be particularly applicable to old favourites that your diners may be more familiar with.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, celebrity chef Diana Henry recommended the use of chives, parsley and tarragon in a souffleed herb and goat's cheese omelette.

This could make a great starter dish, or even a light bite for customers who are not that hungry.

However, why not try bringing your own ideas to the table and attempting to create your own signature flavour pairings that could keep diners coming back for more?
